Adriana Smith
Adriana is a marketing professional with 13 years of experience in strategic marketing and communications. She has a proven track record of creating and implementing successful integrated marketing strategies in several industries including enterprise software applications, telecom, networking, eBusiness, automotive and consumer products.
During her 13-year career, Adriana has held various marketing positions in large corporations including Nortel Networks, Centigram Communications, Trident Microsystems and J. Walter Thompson. Adriana was responsible for all aspects of Competitive Intelligence in Nortel Networks Clarify eBusiness solutions. During this time, she collaborated with marketing, executive and sales teams to win sizeable CRM sales deals. She was also responsible for analyzing and delivering insightful market and competitive intelligence and implementing actionable competitive sales tactics. Adriana also managed and implemented successful co-marketing initiatives with Nortel’s strategic alliance partners that included Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Intel, Hewlett Packard and others.
Prior to Nortel, Adriana worked in Centigram Communications where she helped telecom service providers increase market penetration and reduce churn through delivery of market consulting services in the U.S. and Latin America. During her 7 years in J. Walter Thompson, she managed multi-million dollar advertising campaigns for Fortune Global 500 companies such as Ford Motor Company, Kodak, Nestle and Warner Lambert.
Currently, she is a member the Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Marketing Association (SVAMA) where she acts as Director of the Market Research Committee; she is also a member of Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) and Competia.
Adriana holds a B.S. in Communications from the Intercontinental University in Mexico City and a Diploma in International Business from the MBS - Management and Business School- in Bournemouth England.
